So, after being grounded in
Today, I saw Pride and Prejudice. It was a fantastic movie – very well made and very artistic. Besides, watching the English in action is always cool. Their culture is just so funny. Lords and ladies and people who don’t do any work but somehow get ridiculous amounts of money every year… where does it even come from? And the balls. People say that if it’s one thing Americans have, its balls. But we don’t have balls. Know what I mean?

The money comes from land rent. Didn't you learn anything about the old English economy from reading Smith? He spends like hundreds of pages talking about this.
I didn't read that part of Smith. I considered his discussion of rents purely hypothetical, although now I suppose that it is realistic.
Oh, Pride and Prejudice was a sweet movie, by the way. Mr. Darby was sweet and now I know something about Jane Austen without ever having to read her.
Mr. Darcy, Tom. I don't know if being spared reading Jane Austen is a good thing, though. But then again, I love British literature.
Hmm....I was wasted when I made that last post and have no memory of it. I am surprised by the Darcy/Darby confusion, I should know better even after a dozen drinks.
