The place that I’m staying at allows me to connect to the internet, but only through a proxy server. Because of this, I’ve only been able to use Firefox. Not being able to use Trillian (read: AIM) is pretty lame.
Today I aimlessly walked around Paris in search of the Shakespeare & Co. bookstore. However, I did not find it anywhere. I’ll have to get better directions next time. Later, I went to the Louvre and looked at some very awesome stuff. It was surprisingly empty. I saw the Mona Lisa, The Winged Victory of Samothrace, Vermeer’s The Lacemaker, and Veronese’s The Wedding Feast at Cana, just to name a few. I also saw the Coronation Crown of Louis XV; it was covered with huge diamonds and looked really expensive.
Everyone else my age here has left, so I’m spending time wandering around Paris, reading, and doing math with my grandmother. On Friday, we’re going to Barcelona for a few days. Super cool!

shakespeare and co. is along the seine, v. close to St. Michel stop on the Metro. It's next to a outdoor cafe, and you can see Notre Dame from the outside.
Thanks. What bank of the Seine is it on if I'm facing Notre Dame? I walked around Notre Dame (and the surrounding banks) for a while - must have missed it.
it would be on the left side... though it's on the other side of the Seine. There's a street, then the cafe, then the bookstore--which all face out to the Seine.
Thanks! I'll check it out when I get back to Paris.
