I’ve been busy.

A few slightly depressing things happened today. A few of the senior members of my investing club went to the Pub, my university’s on-campus watering hole. While we were there, people started talking about women, a fairly frequent subject among drunken men, and one of the members complained, “Women who date me only do it expecting a check. That’s what my girlfriend in high school did...” I feel really sorry for him. One bad experience really soured his opinion of women, who are, with a few exceptions, wonderful.

Then I come home and find my roommate sleeping with this girl that I had a crush on first quarter, which really annoyed me. As far as I can tell, there are three reasons for my annoyance: 1) He made me, albeit unintentionally, feel awkward. Roommates don’t make roommates feel awkward. 2) This is the second time he’s gone after a girl that I liked or used to like. 3) He goes after the same women that I do, and is infinitely more successful. I’m sure that this annoyance will pass, as I’m a very forgiving person, but right now I just want the school year to end so that I don’t have to see him anymore.
