Tucker Carlson is a fucking moron

My roommate for the summer is Korean, and it's his first time in America. Since he doesn't speak English very well, he watches a lot of TV to increase his listening comprehension. And since our kitchen table is completely covered with stuff, we eat dinner in the living room and watch TV while doing so.

So, when I came in today to eat dinner, who else was he watching but Tucker Carlson. Now, I have never heard Tucker speak before, but I could only listen through his first segment before I was forced to change the channel, since I had no other means of shutting him up. The story that he was covering was about an attractive white girl in Nevada, her class' valedictorian, who was cut off during her graduation speech when she started talking about God. Now, let's look at the material that Tucker is covering. Is this person white? Check. Are they female? Check. Are they attractive? Check. Gosh, I guess we have all the makings of a great news story here.

But why, you might ask, would Tucker be outraged at the school cutting the girl off? Proselytizing, or converting people to your religion, is illegal. Moreover, since the event was school sanctioned, the establishment clause of the First Amendment (Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion) prohibits her behavior (as opposed to claims about her right of free speech). So, at this point, I have to admit the legal counsel for the school, Tucker’s guest, was making a convincing case. Because a school is a governmental entity and because the girl was being sanctioned by the school, the school had the right to cut her off for the violation of the establishment clause.

But that just wasn't enough for Tucker Carlson. After all, claimed Tucker, if we say that a girl isn't allowed to talk about God, couldn't we argue the same for religious beliefs such as vegetarianism or wanting to pull out of Iraq? The legal counsel of the school correctly stated that such things weren't promoting religion, but apparently Tucker didn't hear him. Promoting vegetarianism or pulling out of Iraq is promoted by religions, but I wouldn't group them in the same category as promoting Jesus. Moreover, the school actually told the girl that they would cut her off if she started talking about God, and she did. What the fuck?

Of course, Tucker had to have the last word. After "listening" to the legal counsel’s response to his idiotic claims about vegetarianism and pulling out of Iraq, Tucker responded with something along the lines of, "Well, we'll just have to disagree, because your interpretation of the establishment clause is far too broad." What a moron.
